Bands

At Twin Peaks Middle School, we have the following band classes:
6th Grade Bands
This year (2016-2017), there are three 6th Grade Band sections, Periods 2, 3, and 5.

All 6th Grade Band students should read the 2016-2017 TPMS Band Handbook.

6th Grade Band Mandatory Concerts

Attendance at the following performances is mandatory for all 6th Grade Band students:

Concert Dress

A big part of performing is dressing nicely. Please contact Mr. Moreau if you have any questions about the concert dress code.

Indoor Performances: Boys must wear nice black dress pants, black dress shoes, with the white Twin Peaks Band polo shirt. Girls must wear black dress pants or a black skirt that goes below the knee when seated, black shoes, along with the white Twin Peaks Band polo shirt. No jeans, white socks, or tennis shoes are permitted.

Outdoor/Casual Performances: Boys and girls will wear the white Twin Peaks Band polo shirt and regular school clothes.

Advanced Band
The Advanced Band meets during Period 4 this year (2016-2017).

All Advanced Band students should read the 2016-2017 TPMS Band Handbook.

Advanced Band Concert Schedule

Attendance at the following performances is mandatory for all Advanced Band students:
In 7th and 8th Grade, Band students have the opportunity to participate in an optional, all-day amusement park field trip. This year's trip is to Knott's Berry Farm on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Jazz Band
The TPMS Jazz Band is open to 7th and 8th Grade students through audition only. The student musicians in the Twin Peaks Jazz Band learn various jazz, rock, and Latin styles of playing, as well as, how to improvise solos.

Concert Schedule

Jazz Band is a performance-based class, and attendance at all performances is mandatory. Jazz Band concerts are posted on the TPMS Band calendar as soon as they are scheduled, so it is important that students and parents regularly check the calendar and this website for the most up-to-date concert information.

Indoor Performances: Boys will wear a Twin Peaks Jazz Band T-Shirt, black dress socks, black dress pants, black dress shoes. Girls will wear a Twin Peaks Jazz Band T-Shirt, black dress pants or a black dress that goes below the knee when seated, black shoes.

Outdoor/Casual Performances: Boys and girls will wear a Twin Peaks Jazz Band T-Shirt and regular school clothes.

RAM Rehearsals

Jazz Band is held during RAM class. If you need to miss Jazz Band at RAM time for any reason, it is required that you do BOTH of the following: (1) Give Mr. Moreau advanced notice of your absence, and (2) Report to Jazz Band class first for attendance.

Jam Band
The TPMS Jam Band is open to all Band and Orchestra students. The Jam Band meets at 7:30 AM before school.
